Preventative Maintenance

Proactive Scheduled routine maintenance of electrical installations includes servicing of heaters, extractor fans, lights fittings, appliances, servicing of machinery and any other parts of the electrical installation. In settings such as schools this is a must as the amount of rubbish we find ‘shoved’ down fan heaters and fans on a yearly service basis is amazing and potentially dangerous.

EICR Testing

An electrical installation condition report is a requirement as electrical installations deteriorate due to damage, wear and tear, corrosion, excessive electrical loading, ageing and environmental influences. The frequencies of a formal electrical inspection depend upon the property type and use. As registered NAPIT electricians we can carry out EICR’s on both domestic and commercial properties and give guidance. Any hazards and deviations from the current 18th edition wiring regulations (BS 7671:2018) will be detailed in this EICR.

PAT Testing

We are able to carry out the testing of both portable and fixed items in full compliance with the British standard for the testing of portable appliances (BS7919). A full report is issued on completion. We also offer an appliance repair service when an item fails a test.

Safety Inspections

Without going into the full depth of an EICR, a visual inspection can be useful to highlight any obvious dangerous situations and electrical hazards between the formal inspections, sometimes this is also known as a routine electrical check.

Emergency Light Testing

Emergency lights must be tested annually, we have many years of experience testing emergency lighting installations. A detailed report of any failures and deviations from the emergency lighting code of practice will be provided in a detailed report along with a certificate. Emergency lights are also subject to a monthly user check in which we can carry out on your behalf or offer an on-site trading service for persons whom look after the building (caretakers etc). We can also provide as fitted drawings and emergency light log books on your request.

Fire Alarm Testing

We test and inspect existing fire detection and alarm systems and any deviations from BS 5839-1 will be highlighted. Full certification provided on completion of works.
